Science Fun!

This week we have been working on a key assessment task in class. This children were asked to research, choose, plan, resource and carry out an experiment of their own choice. They could choose any experiment they liked, however they knew they had to either find the equipment they needed in school or bring in stuff from home. This afternoon the children started carrying out their experiments which was amazing fun! Good job everyone! I can’t wait for the next round of experiments tomorrow!

Dress ‘Outdoors’ on Friday 27th March!

Dress ‘Outdoors’ on Friday 27th March!

This month’s dress down will be in support of our P7s who are raising money to pay for their leaver’s hoodies.

This will take place on Friday 27th March.

Our theme is ‘The Outdoors’. You may decide to dress up as an animal, for an outdoor sport, what you would wear for a camping trip or even the weather! Be as creative as you like!

Please bring your £1 donation with you on this day.  The parent council have very kindly agreed to match any funding we make in school.

Thank you from all the P7s!

This Week’s Learning by Abi and Alexa!

This week’s Learning by Abi and Alexa!

This week we have been learning about metaphors. We have been trying to pass our first level in literacy. We have been trying hard to use full stops, capital letters, punctuation, paragraphs and spelling the word were right. We have been learning the long i words, not easy, not hard but in the middle. I (Abi) kept on getting the er wrong with the word higher.

In maths we did counting in 9’s, 5’s, 4’s and 2’s. We were learning about crocodile mouths in maths – the biggest number gets eaten.

In health and wellbeing we have been learning about emotions where the upstairs brain and the downstairs brain can go in different directions and can cause you to flip your lid. We have been doing happy posters and learning that our body can do stuff we don’t want it to do.

Aaron came in from the Polar Academy and he taught us that he used to get bullied but he got to join the Polar Academy and he went to Arctic and Greenland. He said you can achieve what you want to achieve by keep on pushing and believing in yourself.

We had dogs in that we got to pet while the lady Catriona was reading us a story.

In gym we have been learning bench ball and we are moving on to basketball next week.
