Last day!

A huge thank you to my wonderful Primary 4 children for an amazing year/2 years/3 years! I have loved every minute and I am truly gutted we can’t share our last day together properly in the classroom. I have loved teaching your children and I am so proud of all they have achieved. I am going to miss them all very much.

Thank you so much for all your kind words, beautiful cards and generous gifts. You are too kind.

Have a wonderful last day and I will look forward to seeing everyone next term. Love from Mrs. McCormick xx

2 weeks to go!

And that’s another week passed!! It’s crazy how quickly this term has gone!!

This week we have completed some activities to try to round off our time in Primary 4! It’s been so lovely to see everyone’s amazing artwork and all their lovely photos. Thank you to all parents for their continued support with the different tasks I put up.

Over the next 2 weeks your children will hopefully hear what class they are going in to and who their teacher will be. If you or your child has any worries or concerns about this please don’t hesitate to contact me.

This week in P4!

The weeks are flying by it’s actually unbelievable!! This week we had lots of fun in our google meets with dress ups and anagrams! Well done to everyone who took part!

In maths I have set money work, including giving change. I hope everyone had managed to find time to do a little bit of practical work with this.

In literacy I set a writing task to incorporate similes into our stories. The children did an amazing job with this!

Some of us also jumped headfirst into our food topic and managed to spend time in the kitchen helping prep lunch and dinner and also have a wee think about health and safety.

A super week’s work everyone! Well done!!

End of week 5!

Wow! It’s the end of week 5 already! The weeks are flying in!

This week in literacy we focussed all our attention on reading. We logged on to epic books and between the whole class have managed to clock up over 300 books! Amazing! Keep on reading Primary 4! It’s so important!!

In numeracy and maths this week we have looked closely at calendars and trying to understand how they work.

This week’s health and well-being consisted of researching why we need to exercise. Some children produced amazing google slides sharing the importance of exercise.

Google meet has been lots of fun this week as we all took part in a quiz. Lots of fun! Smaller groups have been much better this week as it gave us the chance to good to get a proper chat.

I was super excited earlier when driving my car I spotted lovely Kiana, Milly the dog and Kiana’s mum. I was beyond excited and quickly stopped the car to say hello, at a safe 2m distance! Seeing Kiana today has reminded me so much why I love my job teaching. I miss all my children so much and wish we could go back to school. Stay safe everyone and hopefully see you all soon. ❤️

Week 4

I can hardly believe we are already at week 4 of the summer term!  It’s crazy!

Literacy over the last two weeks has been looking at trolls project and using adjectives and exciting openers.  Lots of children still using “I” to start every sentence so we will continue to work on this.

In maths and numeracy we have been working on area and our basic facts.  The children should also be continuing with their times tables and basic facts.

In health and wellbeing the children were asked to create their own dance and the videos and photos I have received have been amazing.  Well done everyone for working so hard on this project.

Please send me any photos via email or twitter of your children doing their amazing work.  I miss seeing their wee faces!
